I actually had this thought the other night.  Never came to a definitive conclusion other than 'more Strats'.  :)

  • Depends which guitar it is, probably buy the same but mess about with pickups a bit, might not put the same one in my Les Paul's.

I might struggle to find another of most of them. I have unpopular tastes.

  • Less cheapos - 2 or 3 corkers instead.

    Nah.

I'd get another CU22 but then make a bunch of parts Strats.  A h/h one, and an s/s/s one.  Probably wouldn't bother with Les Pauls and Single Cuts if I was starting from scratch again.

I'd probably just get a P bass instead of replacing my basses but don't tell Bridgehouse.

I'd get similar ones.  Just not as many.

  • I'd take all the money and spunk it on one lifer

But what do you do when the strings on that one go dead?

The whole point of having more than one guitar is to avoid restringing for as long as possible

Similar but not exactly the same.

Might try and end up with one or two less.

Does this all mean we are not happy with our current collections? :-(

Though in reality I supposed it's just what you buy as you go along through the years.

I'd buy one Tele and spend the rest on hookers.

I`d simply have D35 and a Tele, and spend the rest on lessons.

  • There are some that I would directly replace. Unfortunately the value of the others even when added up wouldn't cover the cost of anything else I might want
"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself

  • I'd only buy 2 back as that's all I really play out of the bunch
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

  • I'd buy the three electrics again but wouldn't bother with my acoustics. I get them out of the cases about once every six months.

  • Probably - I’m pretty much down the the minimum I need - anything other than ‘keepers’ have gone - I’m pretty much left with ‘The A Team’.

Exactly the same for electrics: Duo Jet, musicman & full hollowbody, perhaps an Eastman.
For acoustics perhaps one J45 instead of the current AJ and GS mini.

  • Would I buy another:

    Strat - yes
    Charvel - yes
    Takamine - yes
    Larrivee - no
    Ibanez Rg - no
    Telecaster - no

Would be a good to get a fresh start on the plectrum collection too!
