From now on, I expect to see a photo of the posters body of anyone wants to make a comment about mine!
Oh, and it's all paid for - in full. Cost me a bleedin' fortune it did.

I probably shouldn't be mentioning that tho, huh?
Just curious, y'know..
The notion also makes me think of Cold Lazarus by Dennis Potter.
Choice of any body? Dennis Potter connection? The first one that springs to mind is Joanne Whalley.

In all seriousness, I think it is great if it is possible. As the article says though, constant pain could be a real issue. Imagine if it was so painful that you wanted to end it all within a few hours/days. How disappointing would that be.. It is bizarre though isn't it.
What about keeping the brain alive outside the body, so it would interact via artificial means (robotic eyes, arms, etc). In my completely ignorant opinion, it almost sounds easier than connecting all those nerves, veins, and spinal connections again.
if an individual's identity can be said to be located in the brain then that is the dominant part, and the body the subordinate part.
