  • Just out of interest @Fiftyshadesofjay ;. What happens with the registered user with these H9s? Does it stay a Max when you change owner etc ? I read somewhere it's connected to a Eventide account? Sorry if that all sounds a little naive... I am LOL

The original owner can deregister the H9 from your Eventide account very easily using the H9 Control app, and perform a factory reset on the pedal.

So a little trust has to be had when buying one I was going to go for this one but a little too close to Xmas for me. Maybe afterwards

I know that the owner has had a bad experience being missold another H9 in the past, so no issue with trust as far as dealing with @Fiftyshadesofjay is concerned.

I would definitely give one a go. I have the Max version as well, and it's an incredible piece of engineering. If you're playing a set where you don't need more than one non-OD effect at a time, then just an H9 Max and a versatile drive pedal in the gigbag will more than cover it. Some of the algorithms in the H9 have more than one effect in them, so covers even more ground in one stompbox.

Sounds like if I got one I could lose my Strymon Mobius and Timeline. I love them but they do take some board space up. I'd have to try a H9 first though before I'll ever part with them ;)

Yes and no. Broadly speaking, only 1 effect at a time. (Though there are algorithms which pair a couple)

Yeah the same as the möbius but as you say some have combined algorithms :) Even if I got a second basic H9 at a later date, if I know I like it and sell my strymons they would both take less space up than the strymons. That's my thinking at the moment anyway ;)

Personally prefer the Eventides inherent voice to the Strymons... but that’s entirely subjective

They just have their own sounds. I prefer the eventides delays to the timeline for example... But as I say, there’ll be just as many on the other side of this.

Yeah I know what you mean. There are lovers and haters of both systems. I'm currently a Strymon lover but I can hear the benefits of the H9 too. I'm not necessarily loyal to Strymon for the sake of it ;)

It was just far easier and better (and more expensive) for me to have both Strymon and Eventide. Cost me a lot but it's worth it. I love the pitch/arpeggiator on the H9.
