Thanks.
...I'll all fresh faced and smooth after a good shave but the gin does sting a bit as aftershave. I like to splash it all over to feign alcoholism.
I'm a lot happier today, only read one story and that about Trump calling some countries shitholes, which made me laugh.
Oh and it was suggested I am selfish on the L6 thread on here which made me smile.
Does that make me a bad person?
FFS....
So I switched off.
On the Trump latest thing, according to the BBC: Botswana summoned the US ambassador and asked the envoy "to clarify if Botswana is regarded as a 'shithole' country given that there are Botswana nationals residing in the US".
Thay brought a wry smile...
Edit - found it and it’s incredibly underwhelming.
Humphrys is a cynical self-important knobber well past his use by date, quite like Eddie Mayer's jollity tbh

I started listening to R4 back in the 1960s (my dad would have it on over breakfast). You want depressing try:
- Vietnam war
- Nigerian Civil War and Biafran famine
- Rhodesian Bush War - the atrocities would make your stomach turn
- Famine in Africa - it still happens but doesn't get reported
- The troubles in N Ireland and bombs on mainland Britain
- Oil crisis - petrol rocketed in price and was unavailable
- Threat of nuclear annihilation in the Cold War
- SS Torrey Canyon oil spill off Cornwall
- Three day week and endless strikes
- Inflation - up from 10.2 per cent in 1973 to 24.6 per cent in 1975
- Over 3 million unemployed in the 1970s to 1980s
- Interest rates rocketing - people losing their homes
- Bhopal disaster
- Falklands war
- First Iraq war
- Useless England football team
- Etc ...
I think things are actually better these days .. if it stresses you out switch to R2 ... ;-)Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

"Just returned home after 6 days in R of Ireland where I enjoyed informative newspapers, and excellent upbeat news, education and entertainment from RTE radio and TV. Then home to @BBCRadioScot greeting on about NHS/SNPbad. I’m going to emigrate if #indy doesn’t come soon."

Great insult well done.
There are seven billion people in the world. At any one time there is going to be something dreadful happening to some of them. There is also an immense amount of genuine joy happening to some of them. It's up to all of us to decide whether to focus on the good, the bad, or a vaguely proportionate balance of the two. Of course, "the bad" is easier since that's what the noisy, newsy types like to keen about but it's not so much easier that it's unrealistic to pick one of the other options.
