    Beautiful! A really nice burst.

I have an 83 SG1000 and have long thought about removing the pickups and rings and replacing them with something more PAF like. I don't use the splits.

As your original pickups are the same as mine, has it been worth it to you? I always feel the originals are a bit too hot these days and those do look good in that guitar.

I daren't ask this question but are they more organic!   Sorry.   More open? I think the originals are a bit too focused but back in the day that was ok. I don't use a lot of gain.
    Thanks.

I'm in a honeymoon period so currently barely putting down the one on the left - Mojo JM sized WRHB and a solid rosewood neck. It is superb.

Currently the one getting the most play time is the Strat, mainly because of the song I'm currently learning and the new amp I just picked up.  The R8 is obviously getting a fair amount of play too!

Not the most recent photo, as it has a single coil in the bridge again and no S1 switch.  Also not sure why it rotated the photo....

  • Would be worth trying some heavier strings on that Esquire.

  • You might have something there. Unplugged it's not very resonant.

I lost a bit of my Gas lately so sold a few and now down to 2 electrics. But mainly my Les Paul Traditional gets played the most. I love this guitar. and always looks different depending on the light and angle.

Might seem obvious given the forum goldrush, but you can't go wrong with a les paul with a nice top. Lovely!

So that's an original mint 1961 Stratocaster? Good grief, it's fantastic!
and they just invested in new strings!

How do you find the Fret King? I’m rather drawn to the shape of these and I really like the look of the single pickup one.  Is it comfortable, heavy, neck dive? .

  • Has to be my 1959 Les Paul special, so versatile and sounds simply wonderful. Can't stop playing it at the moment.
