The Reptile did the trick - it sounds very warm, plus has a tape wow/flutter thingy to add a chorusy-style effect to everything. Runs off a standard 9V power supply and doesn't need much power, so it can even be daisy-chained. The Mk1 doesn't have a tap tempo. the Reptile 2 does. The Mk 1 uses the second button to toggle the tape effect on/off.
The Replica is much more faithful sounding, with clean, accurate repeats. I preferred the Reptile - in the main because I was replacing the DMM, not looking for a digital delay.
Simple enough to dial in, varied enough to give an array of sounds and just right. I sold all of my other delays and I had a fair number of them
What's the verdict?
I may go for one myself, can they do a decent slapback?
Slapback is one of the main things I wanted it for, along with a nice warm "thickening" sort of delay, and it delivers for both of those brilliantly. I'm going to have to get a "favourite" switch to switch between those two things now I think.
