Please let us know what you think, Ash?
Yes, Ash is also nice and traditional tonewood as you know. Normal Ash has a problem with weight, almost like Oak. That’s why Fender invited Thinline. But then there’s Swamp Ash which is lighter weight. It’s nice looking and bright sounding wood. Also a bit harder that alder. Only problem is the price. It’s almost twise as expensive than Alder here in Finland.

Ofcourse I have use it and have it in stock all the time, just in case some one wants to have it.

Here’s couple of my models with Swamp Ash:

Here’s what’s on table at the moment! First two are Pine and the black one is Siberian Larch from yard of my fathers home cabin .

Wow, the pine looks fantastic! Have you ever stained them?

  • Sure I have. Like the first one there, it’s colored with grey/brown stain to look like old and gray barn floor or else. Sometimes stain is a tool to make contrast, sometimes it’s for colour. Usually it’s mixed to lacquer, sometimes also straight to the wood. Lots of variations.
One of my next tryouts is to make ” worn denim” type of color to pine blank

I promise! As soon as I get my hands on it.
Actually, my prophecy is that this kind of colour is gonna be ”the new black” on the boutique guitar scene. Keep your eyes open and remember, Saku was the first one ;)

  • First time I've stumbled across this thread. Never heard of the brand, but for some reason had presumed I was gonna be looking at either some kind of pointy shreddy type of thing, or yet another Strat/Tele or Gibson clone.

How wrong I was!! These look absolutely sensational!

Sadly I imagine they'll be a million miles out of my budget range, but I wish you every success with your UK expansion, I'm sure you won't be short of takers!  =)

That's what I love about the T.Family. They're never going to be confused for a Telecaster or a T style boutique instrument. They're a totally original design
