My Dad just bought a rather nice acoustic made in Japan. Never heard of them before. Seemed like a really well made guitar. Are they decent? He's unlikely to ever play it as he prefers classical. I'd love to have it at my house!!

    I wrote something about Asturias steel stringed guitars recently -
    Scheonberg Soloist guitars had an arrangement with them to manufacture 'affordable' examples of the Scheonberg teams designs which were very highly thought of in fingerpicking circles.
    The original Solo series was inspired by the Scheonberg Soloist guitar (1985-1990) which was designed by Dana Bourgeois and built by Martin Guitars.
