The MXR Carbon Copy Deluxe should be worth a shout too! I got one last week and it's pretty damn good!

  • Andertons have the Foxgear Echo Sex Baby, got to be worth a look ( smaller, budget friendly version of the Echosex).
+1 on the Kilobyte, I think for some the perfect halfway house between analogue and digital.
The Foxgear stuff largely absent on YouTube but if you go to 22 mins on here:

Dunlop Echoplex (make sure you get a tap switch to plug into it - expands delays to 4 secs). It's a wonderful analog voiced delay, simple to use and with the ability to make the repeats louder than the source note if you wish. Works really well with bass (which is pretty unusual for analog sound delays ime).
This. Still on my board. Excellent.

  • How about the little ibanez mini analog delay? Nice Japanese built pedal, mine sounds warmer than my DM2W. In fact I will probably sell the Waza I think, I don't really need both. I also just let my El Cap go, somewhat reluctantly, but didn't use most of what it could do.

Moore Ana echo... is the dm2w worth the extra? Doubtful
    I’d second that.

I really liked my TC Alter Ego, good choice. Fun reverse mode.

Digitech Obscura is a cracking pedal.

tbh I do have a sense of forboding about the TC - all their stuff I’ve used before has died on me - we shall see...

I went from Catalinbread Belle Epoch to Deep Blue Delay to now a Dunlop Echoplex. I think each was an improvement on the last.
My Trade Feedback Thread is here

Been uploading old tracks I recorded ages ago and hopefully some new noodles here.

    I've had loads of delays.

The SD Vapour Trail is very good.

The Aqua Puss is very bright but a good basic delay

The deep blue is basic but hard to beat as it's really nicely voiced.

The Obscura is great but quite fiddley. I've got one I'm considering selling.

Yeah the Vapor Trail was too dark for me - or not sure if it was the tonality or the way the repeats immediately grit up - either way it wasn't quite right

I keep hearing that about the DBD and the idea appeals.

IIRC the vapour trail has a tone control.

If it's too dark I wouldn't bother with the Boss or Carbon Copy as they are both quite dark.

Yeah I know the CC is also too dark for me - although the the new deluxe has the bright setting so going to try it

    Brief report from The shop

    EHX Canyon - meh

Carbon Copy Deluxe - also a bit meh - I wanted to love this one

Dual Blue Delay - pretty good - easy to get a useable sound quickly - slightly odd dual mode operation a bit fiddly underfoot

Foxgear Echosex Baby - AMAZING - if this had a tap tempo jack I'd have bought it by now but that's giving me pause

    Echoplex - nice

Wampler Faux Tape Echo - really nice - not as chewy and effecty as the achosex - kind of between the deep blue and the Echosex - quick to dial in, a bit if character, has tap.

    Hmm

    Red ones are better.
