excellent versions of the original methinks!...
5pts to @markblack - really nice and chilled... liked that a lot.
3pts to @IMC1980 - swingy and hit the spot.
1pt to @flying_pie - really liked this... very creative.
nice one chaps... difficult song to do I thought...
Anyway, my votes go to:
5 points @poopot - The triumphant return of Mr Slippyfist, flutes, funk and sleaze; the unholy trinity!
3 points @markblack - very nice bare bones take, great voice as well
1 point @flying_pie - started off bleak and ended batshit crazy!
3 point @flying_pie - for the end alone!
1 points @poopot - it was a close thing with @flying_pie
and thanks for the kid words above... have to be honest I'd never heard the song before, I enjoyed doing a cover of something I had no attachment to. Nice to try something different.
5 : @markblack
3 : @IMC1980

Seems a shame to have to leave someone out but in the end I'm plumping for:
5 points @markblack - completely different from anything I would have expected and really nicely done
3 points @flying_pie - also completely different and good fun
1 point @poopot - very listenable and lots going on
5 points @poopot : Great track and groove. Very Bowie'ish. But how the hell did you get that monster lead guitar tone? I need to know all the details. Christ that sound reminds me of hearing Alan Murphy live at the Cricketers. Real goose bump stuff.
3 points @markblack : A very moving melancholy rendition loaded with atmosphere.
1 point @IMC1980 : A good rocker, which is where you excel
I'm really sorry to miss you out @flying_pie. Amazing imagination and creativity. If that was the basis for the voting then you deserve to win in that category.
