My mate has just messaged me and our bandmate, from Seattle saying he jogged up to Kurt's house this morning listening to In Utero and just as he got to the top of the hill, All Apologies finished and the sun came up.
I'll be watching that show later tonight, looks good and I've not seen much (or any) footage with Jason in the band.
With the music market different now (streaming and downloads as well as discs), and the fact that I'm so much older (and squarer too), it's hard to see something like this happening again.
I haven't seen anything like this happen with such a raw band for many years. The last band I can remember tearing through the press etc was At The Drive-In.
Sure, there have been indie bands who have become huge, like Arctic Monkeys/Libertines, but they are nowhere near this raw.
Bands don't seem to go through the sample development slog anymore, honing their craft and learning to write songs etc.
I'll just stop that there because I realise what I'm beginning to sound like!
Is there any footage of the Nirvana/Cateran shows kicking around?
You're definitely in the minority if you think they were nothing special
The point I am trying to make is that those who came to their music were often turned on to the music that inspired them.
Chad played North drums throughout his time with Nirvana. They shells made from are fibreglass and a have horn shaped bottom head to aid better projection towards the audience. They look f*cking weird and I bet the cases were massive, making them a total pain in the arse to load into the van!
