Seriously, it looks amazing. I'm supposed to be saving for an mjw. I might have to make an exception.

On some humbuckers parallel and split are too similar to be worth having both, but i think this will be different.

I started making my Oil City Mighty Ninety a couple of years ago and this is the latest incarnation. One of the issues with many humbucker sized P90s is that the shorter bobbin leads many makers to take the easy option and wind less wire on ... or drop to a finer wire gauge. The 'Mighty' has always be my no compromise option: wound 'full fat' with proper 42awg wire like a full sized P90, it uses special, custom made bobbins and has the same number of wire turns as my full size P90s! That means the growl and full response of a proper 90 too.
I have now also introduced the option of the all black 'Topless 90' (as well as a chrome ring version). Any metal in the magnetic field will rob the top end bite of a pickup ... even relatively 'transparent' nickel. Now you can have a humbucker sized 90 with no metal betwen the bobbin and the strings ... just like a soapbar or dogear.

when you get famous and they ask you about your favourite builds you have to say; "they are all special...but my first was extra special...(then proceed to tell them about me)"
