Scallops

Have a '62 Reissue Japanese Neck.  Yeah, it's a good one, but someone Richie Blackmore scalloped it. 

Wonder if it's possible to Malmsteen scallop it in a u fashion, or whether the scallops would go through the fret dots or weaken the board too much, given how deep the edges of the scallops are already.

Or maybe I could get away with a rounded U scallop with a sharp edge behind the fret.

    Wish I could help, not my field of expertise, but there doesn't seem to be much wood/fretboard at the thinnest point. Would it be possible to get new rosewood fingerboard and then scallop to your specs from scrath? Would that be too much expense/hassle?Hope you find a solution.
