If it's a "collection" of items, my mobile disco rig is worth about £4k, but then, I paid more for my kitchen than that.

If it's a single item, my missus's engagement ring was a blooming fortune - eventually she'll throw it at me, and I then own it and can sell it and buy an SG.
And you still get women saying men don't plan enough for the future. :)

in that case everybodies response ought to be the same, or pretty damn close.

I wouldn't class my better half as an item. Not unless I wanted a black eye!
you've re-changed the goalposts............ its it most expensive item, or most valuable thing ??  come on, make your mind up

just because you don't, doesn't mean you can't
just because you do, doesn't mean you should.

The original thread topic, the most expensive item you own outright. I was merely commenting it would also be interesting to see what people have as a most valued item.

By suggesting she's the most expensive thing you imply she has a monetary value, as though you're pimping her out... which I'm told is frowned upon
I meant expensive in terms of "cost me the most money" not in terms of how much she is worth on the open market.

    That reminds me.

A few minutes after she was born when I was addled from two days without sleep. The midwife made the usual cooing about how lovely she was and how big (9' 10") and that was the biggest they'd had in a while.
I attempted a joke, but exhaustion meant my sense of humour had gone a bit wrong so I said "Yeah, and if we got all the babies in here and made them fight to the death I bet mine would win"
She looked at me as if I had said it in all seriousness.

Lol. By the way, I would just like you and everyone else to know that I only ready Myranda's post not your original post and assumed you were referring to your wife, not your baby daughter!!

I think it's an incredibly moving story that your ancestor had to wait 131 years to get a violin to use their bow on. :)

+1 for the lucky (or is it older) ones amongst us. After houses and cars it would be my Axe-FX, both to buy, and at resale value
