Yes, not great quality and I can't bring myself to buy any these days. I get the sales emails but it's always the weird designs that I'd never wear. 

The reason you chumps are dissatisfied with your Doc Martins is that you've been buying cheap cheesy knock-offs.  You should be buying Doc Martens, you bunch of "Knock-off Nigels"!

The problem is the ones with "Doc Marten" are the foreign knock offs as the origional UK factory still exists and still produces the origional shoes under a different name.

It's a bit like Heritage and Gibson where the knock off is better quality and in some ways more authentic.

I've got two pairs of 1460s at the moment, black and oxblood, both about 8 years old - the uppers are still in great condition. I do a lot of walking and had them both re-soled last year for the grand total of £40 for both pairs with genuine Made in England soles by my local repair place. Hopefully a proper girl would know to wear proper UK-made Solovair and not that Doc Marten rubbish.
