Wow! Cheers Chris, I've been playing bass since the age of 14 (31 years in total), 20 years regular and guitar for 10 years..still shit though  Its very hard to give it up mate..

I thought carpal tunnel was treatable with surgery? I know that the guitarist from Incubus had it and recovered.

Sorry I know nothing about it, and i'm sure you've explored every avenue of treatment,  just really saddens me to see people have to give up a passion.

Ive had some great advice from guys on here inc a surgeon. I have been offered surgery some time ago and i know guys who have totally regretted having it.
Yes its very difficult to let it go but I'm sure playing air guitar will be a lot less costly, think of the postage ill save on moving pedals along
