The often out of context "guitar is a midrange instrument" argument that somehow the  mid setting on an amp can't go below 5 or else the guitar will literally cease to function.

I had an old strat that sounded just like a Wookiee on middle pickup through a peavey bandit. It was the early 90s tho.

Mght have been the beer I spilt on it once tho.

Yes - I mentioned 'verb - which paradoxically is a noun....

This isn't exclusive to guitars and is more of an American thing but the expressions "pull the trigger" and "flip" when used regards the buying and selling of gear are pretty excuciating.

"Whammy bar" and "tremolo arm". One is just lame, the other incorrect and two decades after I started playing I still have no consistent or agreeable way of describing that particular component. If forced I'd probably just go with "wiggle stick".
I have to say, I sometimes flip; is there a better term for buying something and then selling it on quickly for a profit?

I also refer to the tremolo arm as the whammy bar (it was in the lyrics to a Frank Zappa song and it stuck).

Spank. I have no idea what the word means when describing the sound of a Stratocaster...

Haha I had a tutor that would say "spank it" before I went up and performed on stage during live performance workshop lectures.
