    Strumming.

Nothing wrong with the term itself, it just drives me mad because it's the go-to word for people who don't play guitar when they learn that you do.

"So, will you be strumming away on your guitar then?".  No I fucking will not.

    How organic is it?
The buckle rash, tuning pegs - and the butter it plays like - are all 100% organic.

Bought from my favourite boutique dealer - one of the best, creamiest-sounding fiddles I've ever stuck a cord into....

Do you have at least 24 ultra high res photos of the neck joint?

    A jack is a hole.

    This is a plug:

This is a jack or socket (or, if you must, a jack socket):

Is that right? I never knew that. I'd heard it called a jack socket, but I thought that was because the jack went into the socket. Loads of people would call a guitar lead a "jack-to-jack" when distinguishing from XLR cables too. My world has been shaken to its core.
Always be yourself! Unless you can be Batman, in which case always be Batman.
My boss told me "dress for the job you want, not the job you have"... now I'm sat in a disciplinary meeting dressed as Batman.

    Yup, it is true.
The plug goes into the jack/socket.
You can call the plug the jack plug because it plugs into the jack but I don't like it.

The other one that annoys is people calling the guitar jack the 'input'.
The input is the pickup, the output is the jack.

Don't get me started with people saying Mac OSX and pronouncing it 'Ex' rather than 'Ten'.

Only one I can't abide is "my tech".

Dont mind Pup at all, makes complete sense to me and typing pickup is way too long, however, the only reason I don't use it is that @ICBM has often made it clear it's a blanket ignore for anyone who uses it, and I'll need him next time I go to re-solder my guitar and I'm knee deep in solder, electrical buzz and internet wiring diagrams.

Bedroom amp rather than home amp. I'd be surprised if many of you actually only kept their amp in the bedroom.

I know that anyone using the phrase 'melts faces' when referring to shredding on a guitar is still a virgin.

I'll never forget the build-sheet that came with my custom built Suhr referring to the 'Side mounted input jack'.

Any respect I had for John Suhr instantly evaporated when I read that....

Its the actual size of the plug - rather than its proportions - which reminds me of mine....

When someone finds out you play guitar and ask "So do you play rhythm or lead?"
    Yes, very irritating.
I either respond with 'Yes'  or 'Can you read or write?'.
