Well I say me. I mean't the miss lady.

Just some random fabric from a charity shop.. took her I believe about 2 hours or so.. real funking good job if I do say so.

Kinda like the Fender tweed.. but urm.. kinda looks like an old ladies curtain..hipsters will love it.

    That is incredible.

Its kind of disgusting but at the same time its brilliant. Made better by the fact that Randall try to portray themselves as the most metal of all amps.

  • hehehe Yeah there's something about it.. almost kind of ironic.

She's thinking about offering it as a service.

I didn't realise this was pushing the metal genre.. I can get some almost Voxy tones out of it... especially if I scoop the mids a little.

    Very cool!

I've sometimes wondered about doing that but never could quite be bothered…

Needs an arty grille cloth now :).

Wow.  It does need a nice brown , black and tan or basketweave grille cloth now though. Have you lacquered it?

Is it a Sandersons William Morris print?   ;)

Shes been upholstering for years.. but just done the amp as a one off. Stuck it up on Midlands guitar exchange and she's not currently doing a Mesa triple rec head in the same pattern and a Fender is on its way.

what I mean't to say is she said she'd happily do it for you just need some measurements to order the tolex.

I thought the same thing was contemplating using netting for curtains to give it that real geriatric vibe :D

Its been lacquered but using a mix of hide glue and some weird juice stuff she made..You have to coat it a few times but it sets very similar to a Fender Tweed to stop it fraying and tearing but it's still nice to touch.

I can see a nice little weekend job for your missus!

I'm also wondering how cool my 5150 head would look blinged up with purple and white....

  • That amp would certainly go down well in the Prog-Llewelyn-Bowen-Metal movement.

  • That looks immense, really good. Would happily get an amp done like that or other patterns, sure is an improvement. Midlands you say?
