Black mirror on Netflix

What's Hot

I saw an episode a year or so ago and it was fantastic (girl with no memory being filmed by people with phones), but then I forgot about it. Son no 1 put an episode on the other day and it was very good (american traveller needing cash to get home). Saw one today and it was brilliant (White Christmas). It was like three stories rolled into one, and a truly horrific vision for the future. The last moment ... Anyway, highly recommended series.

Probably my favourite thing on TV. Personal faves are San Junipero and National Anthem.

Just watched first episode of Season 4: USS Callister, it stars Jesse Plemons and Cristin Milioti who were both in Fargo.

It's a great start to Season 4, very very clever.

I'm going to watch one a night to get me through this God awful first week back at work...

  • Love Black Mirror. The new series had a decent start with USS Callister but the story has been done before. However, it's production values were so high you can overlook the unoriginallity.

Episode 3 of series 4 ("Crocodile") is pretty bleak, although the Icelandic scenery is the star of the show.

I would say that the quality has dropped a little since the first three series and the ideas are beginning to repeat. It's still one of the best things on TV though.

Amazing telly, I didn't watch it for a while and assumed as Charlie Brooker was the writer it would be a comedy. I was waiting for the funny parts and it took about 15 minutes of the first episode to realise what kind of show it was..

Watched the new series in a day. There are three disappointing episodes IMO, but it's hard to maintain such incredible standards. Shut up and dance is my favourite one, absolutely warped and completely grippIng.

Have a wisdom. "Shut up and Dance" is outstanding and keeps you on the edge of your seat until.the final frame.

It's scarily dark isn't it? Reminds me of how I felt as a kid watching Doctor Who

Seriously every one - watch White Christmas, great story but it's really got under my skin. I have tons of empathy and somethings really get into my head. Can't stop thinking about it, I actually feel uncomfortable if I dwell on it.

Is this the first series of BM that actually has an overall theme to tie the episodes together? I didn't binge series 1-3, so I didn't really have that feeling of continuity.

Can't help but feel that the tech in Peter F Hamilton's Commonwealth series was a bit of an inspiration for this one. Doesn't diminish it at all, mind.

Just started watching this from the first series..... Enjoyed National Anthem and then found Fifteen Million Merits a bit boring.

Then came The Entire History Of You which was bloody brilliant.  Now onto series two.... I'd seen Be Right Back before, but without knowing it was part of Black Mirror (worth watching just for Hayley Atwell!) and then White Bear.
White Bear is doing my head in this morning.... I won't leave a spoiler though - off to Google to see what I can find out.   :)

I quite liked this series and enjoyed it more than 3 but not the strongest imo. USS Callister and Hang The DJ were great I thought and I liked the Black Museum but the others were a bit rubbish. Especially Metalhead.

Loved them all but Metalhead was awful. Though that's the only episode I haven't loved in 4 seasons so that's not bad going.

Just watched Metalhead yesterday, I liked the bleak black and white filming but the episode leaves you feeling empty at the end as there is no back story or real resolution to the events.

Did anyone notice Wraith Babes came up when she ordered the porn film in Crocodile ? I liked that but on the whole I think Season 4 has been the weakest

Daughter #3 recommended this to me so I watched one and a half episodes of series one last week. That was more than enough, won't be watching any more.

That’s what annoyed me. The potential was good. An interesting plot but basically with no introduction as to how the circumstances got the way they did and no real explanation for the resolution either.

By far my least favourite episode of BM (and the fact that it was still perfectly watchable just goes to show how good the rest are!)
