    @thecolourbox ;
It's like all TV, it's not for everyone. If you have seen three episodes and didn't like them, move on and watch a different show.

Reminds me of that great WC Fields quote:

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. There's no point in being a damn fool about it.

I'll perhaps try one of the recommended episodes from the later series in this thread then to see if it appeals more. Strikes me s far as a similar concept to 1984 where it just lists stuff that we know are bad for us, and they explain why they might be even worse for us, but yes that's only from the first few so I quite look forward to being converted :)

Please note my communication is not very good, so please be patient with me

The couple we saw are digitized versions of their real-life selves. The place they've been in is a representation of an internet dating app's compatibility-calculating algorithm, so although what we've seen appears to have taken several years, in reality it was much less, probably seconds.
In 1000 simulations, 998 have resulted in them "rebelling" against the system to be together, which the app considers to be an indication of compatibility in the real world (we see both of them being shown the other on their phone with a "99.8% compatible" figure). At the end, we see the real-life Amy and Frank meet for the first time.

OK, that *is* really cool, I didn't even know we had that!

Click the Paragraph icon (to the left of the smilies in the toolbar), and it spoilerifies the paragraph(s) you've got selected.

    It's fun, isn't it?

Highlight the text you want to hide, then choose "spoiler" from the paragraph drop down (like a backwards "P" next to the smilies). It won't hide the text until you post.

I think I might have just ruined this thread.

  • I think we've just found a new sanction between "warning" and "cooler".

Remember that Black Mirror episode where the criminal gets "blocked" by everyone and can only see blurred faces?

Just set it so that the offender sees every post inside a spoiler tag...

  • This is a genuine question and not trolling or anything like that, I'm grown up enough to accept different strokes for different folks etc. But if I found the first three of series one quite dull am I going to like the rest of it enough to warrant carrying on? Just found the first few quite underwhelming and even cliched at times, but then I thought the same when I read 1984 so who am I to judge

I reckon if you found that little of interest in the first series it's just not for you.

  • Was is crocodile where the woman has to keep killing people to hide her guilt?
I found that one quite disturbing. Switched off when she saw the child.

So you missed the twist about the child.

it was as bleak as you probably expected, only made bleaker by the twist
