Its rather Old English, and a bit like the Daily Telegraph (or at least as the Torygraph was when my old man read it when I were a kid). It's not quite the same as German Blackletter but it's getting on for it. 'Tis true that some HM bands have adopted a similar typeface, but typefaces like that have been around a lot longer than HM.

I like that the only thing that concerns you about wearing a promotional fez is the type of font used. Presumably you are otherwise quite used to wearing a fez?

the amount of times I nearly bought a fez when I was playing Nightboat to Cairo on gigs was , well, it was a lot times. The alternative was a pith helmet but then you get into deciding between a real pith helmet and a novelty look alike. A real one would be good in the summer, but was I ever really going to wear it out shopping on a sunny day? And is wearing a fez somehow racist? Although I didn't really understand why. You can see how I never made the decision and yet a little part of me still wants a fez.And if there was a forum fez would it match the kilt I never bought either...

I think you'll find that both groups belong to a single "sort".

the fez has always struck me as a very impractical head garment. It's worn in hot countries, so you don't need it to keep your bonce warm yet it provides no protection from the sun. Just don't get it. Bit like bowler hats in that respect.
