I think I saw a novelty clock like this once - just one hour hand, and the times were labelled "1-ish", "2-ish", etc...

Yeah a bit pretentious to charge that much for them.  "Look how stylish and lazy I am."

I don't wear a watch at all though, which makes me even worse...

I quite like them. And £210-£240 for a Swiss made watch isn't unreasonable but would never buy one because of all the  "...slow is not a speed. It’s a mindset that most of us somehow lost..." pish

As someone who’s only started wearing a watch again for the first time in 25 years I can only say what a load of bollocks. Fine if you want one for a gimmick - but don’t sell it as some sort of improvement/lifestyle choice.

I quite like them but don’t think I will put them on my BDay list... I already have 3 watches that are mainly ornaments..

bloody racking my brain re BDay list and the Wife is putting the pressure on..

Ah, I thought they meant slow as in a 'bit thick', hence why it just has one hand.

Christ, just realised they're 250+ and you only get a quartz movement. I was already out, but now i'm definitely out!

Actually what I would like is a watch with just a second hand and no markings at all. People would say "what's the time?" I would stare at it then say "dunno"

Erm, Swatch watches start at ~£40, and they’re swiss-made quartz watches too.

Yes, but they are horrible cheap plastic-y things and the cheap quartz movements are probably ETA Thailand.

Getting back to the OP, modern single handed watches have been around for a long while, an interesting novelty IMO.

Far more interesting than a quartz are the automatic versions made by Mastersinger, some nice designs too.
