Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself
I was admiring a sideboard a while ago which had an obviously jigged woodworm hole pattern with repeats every 18" or so, like a Tom & Jerry chase scene.

You might want a fifty year old car, but you wouldn't want one to do two hours on the motorway every day.
They are also fairly unique in that old valuable examples have been beaten to buggery by years of gigging, the life of a 300yr old classical instrument has generally been gentler, even in Mozart's time it was probably unusual to twat a stage invader with a violin. Might have been hard to resist twatting Mozart one though.
Jeans covered in paint.. not so much, for me anyway..

I'm not sure all guitars are guaranteed to get better over time.
Acoustic guitars are obviously more significantly changed by age and, to my ear, definitely sound better with age. Would I want a "relic" looking like Willie Nelsons? F*** no
