Brilliant guitar work, amazing vocals, clever and interesting bass, tight as hell drums and some fantastic keys work.
They are also an amazing band live. Their recent trilogy of albums are just as good as their early work.
Dog Man Star is a great record imo even before you consider where they were in terms of talking to each other. I even like them with Richard Oakes too.. I'll have a watch.

One of the reasons he got the job was that they were ready to tour and he already knew all the songs!
To be fair he is a fine player in his own right, just not quite as good as Bernard.
