"if you can hear it, then you have too much on"
This would seemingly be the answer from people on my train, if the question was "How much of your huge ugly fashion headphones need to actually be on your ears channelling sound into them?"
I'm scared and I'm waiting for life

Nope, I use it as a grand effect. More likely to have a bit of slapback on when playing.

    Noise, randomness, ballistic uncertainty.

I always have a bit on and then occasionally use a second reverb pedal for a bit more ambience

Quite a mixed bag here, but like me me the general consensus seems to be a little bit on all the time.

Usually off for funky stuff as it removes the sharp edges from staccato chords.

I use a little bit of Plate from my Flint at all other times, but only just enough that you notice it if you turn it off.

Occasionally I use the ridiculous 80's delay to do some ambient stuff.

At home - on a little bit.

At a gig - on ONLY for a particular effect. Otherwise off, for it is the work of Satan and makes everything mushy.

As Chet Atkins once said to a young singer "Do you want some talent on that?"

I’m so bored I might as well be listening to Pink Floyd

Now I'm using an amp with reverb (HT-50) I have it on all the time (just a bit though).

For some clean stuff and that bit in the chorus of Sex on Fire (everyone's favorite) I use a Hall of Fame mini for a bit extra,

That's for gigging, at home I go for supermassive verbs from the Big Sky....oooooooo

With my Marshall I use a tiny bit on all the time however I am with @Richardj, using something like a Matchless, Carr or Bad Cat I find I need hardly any at all.
