Don't they chuck out any Gibsons at your tip?

Had a farida ftc12 tele a few years back. Basically I couldn't justify paying for a cv when the farida was £125 and was every bit as good, had a fuller neck profile and what I found out later, the same pickups. Couldn't say for sure about the ftc8 but mine was weighty too and was listed as a poplar body.

thanks @gilby and as luck would have it, a mate has some bridge saddles off a CV Tele that I can have and a Seymour Duncan bridge pickup. If the electrics aren't shot, this could be up and running very soon.

Maybe you'd need to go looking for the dumpster out the back of the Gibson factory. You could get all the ones that don't pass QC.

Ah right I've just spotted the flaw in that plan.

I've just had it confirmed by Dawsons (sole distributor of Farida Guitars in the UK) that the early ones, like mine, are very well made and the body is Alder and they're at least as good as a Classic Vibe Tele, which as previously mentioned, are made by Farida and come out of the same factory.
