    The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

    Some people in here clearly getting smutty mixed up with cool

    It looks like wazmeister may be in with a shot at the title, although his guitar might be a little too weller'esque, weller was cool but his penchant for rodney trotter style feathercuts leaves him languishing

    In 1982 I went on a school trip to the Soviet Union. It was during the Falklands War, oddly enough. Anyway, the entire country was like that guitar, but without the stickers. It's quite magnificent, where on earth did you get it from?

    Take the dodgy pinup girl off that and I'd actually agree that it was cool as fuck.

    However as an actual serious answer the two coolest guitars here are owned by @ThorpyFX and @samzadgan, namely being whatever that awesome purple thing Thorpy got last week and a Millimetric for Sam.
