Good to see old Chappers broadening out from his usual Dungeons and Dragons playing 14-year old male customer base.
What’s wrong with Dungeons and Dragons as a hobbie?
At aged fourteen? There are better ways for an adolescent male to waste his time.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

Chronic masturbation and sweep picking - two sides of the same coin - complimentary disciplines if you like

What or who would buy this? Seriously, is there a man, woman, fish, or sea monster that would spend £1500 on this?

I honestly can't get over the state of them. How did they look at that and go "yep, this one's ready to go out the door"

From what I've seen online the QC on these "relics" may be better than the non-relic guitars. Perhaps a way to diguise the poor QC?

Oh dear. Isn't the point of relicing meant to make the 60's strat made last week, feel like one from the 60's?

These Chupmans are modern. And they are poly finished.

Not sure this is going to help save the brand.

  • I can't see why you're all taking the piss. That wear pattern genuinely and realistically recreates the look of an Original Chapman Guitar after 10 years of heavy Bedroom noodling.

I get you, but my point was that Chapman Guitars have only been a thing for the last 10 years. Must be inspired by all those big Rock act Axe Slingers who have toured them and abused them with Sweat, Dandruff and Jack Daniels over a relatively short period of time.

Oi think Oi Moight put moi Relic Alexa up for sale :)

“Battleworn”...if trying to shred in your bedroom between wanks is a battle then yeah ok.
Τo be fair that is a battle I've been fighting, single-handed, for many a year.
After that many years, you should change it up.

Try the other hand. Or both. Or a marigold with painted finger nails.

  • @ICBM I remember you saying at some stage that poly finishes could be reliced like nitro. Is this what you were talking about? ;-)

  • I am pretty marmite about a lot of relics every once in a while I see a really well done old looking Strat or Tele and go yeah. These are seldom done by the custom shop and usually either by a dedicated enthusiast or someone who does it for a living and as said they are sympathetic realistic and the whole thing looks right.

These are just so fake and awful. The very badly done photoshop promo of the post-apocalyptic Lumber Jack WTF.

I also not really sure if the young market wants modern style guitars to look fake road-worn fine if you a replicating an old Fender or Gibson to an effect it was built in the 50's or 60's or is like your idols battered road dog.

So after the Mea Culpa video if Chappers new strategy is now let the product speak for me then it says it all.

Fake and partially chewed up and spat out by Vermin

    Fully on-brand message there. lol
