    How about the Vox Repeate Percussion or more likely a clone, they would do the choppy sound I'm sure.

    I don't get on with digital tremolo as I like that old Fender amp sound. Having got through a number of trem pedals, the only one I've held onto is the Effectrode delta-trem. It's magical, and sounds great straight to desk. Costs a lot, but worth it imho

    I didn't find that the Pulsar was able to manage the proper square wave thing like the PN2 does. The Vox Repeat Percussion has a ramp wave that is choppy but has a very distinctive character and is not necessarily a pleasing effect.
