I thought I start a new thread with nicer photos.

So after heart in the mouth moment when seeing the guitar turned up unboxed in just the tweed case, got home, cleaned it, strung it up and set it up.

1 - Intonation - perfect
2 - Neck nice and straight.
3 - Frets has some wear, this guitar was certainly played, cleaned the fretboard and the cloth was brown.
4 - it is VERY light (6lb 15oz)  o

Had a quick go, a C shape neck ? (not sure what it's call), its quite thin, i like it.  resonate very well, the Custom Shop 69 pick ups sounds fab.

Oh and it is so gorgeous to look at!

Now i am done

Looks like you got a good one - well done man. Now set fire to cloth that’s covered in finger-jam.

If it makes you feel better, it took me 3 full buckets of soapy water to clean the inside of my Rickenbacker case, and I think it’d still give you a nasty rash if you touched it for more than 3 seconds.

    Nice Strat though
Every time I found one I liked before I hesitated and then they were sold! I remember each and everyone of them.  This one I bought it about 2hrs after seeing it on eBay.

Now I’ll wait 5 more years lol

I’ve always found the worn effect on Roadworns to look a bit half hearted and not very well done.  Not so this one though which looks really great.  Happy new guitar day.

Thanks Waz. I would like to try a CS Fender though to compare, but it is hard to imagine swapping/trading it away. The neck is great, the action is ridiculously low (I can get the High E to just a hair under 1mm and the low E to just above 1mm and not buzz both open and 12th fret). It weights 7 1/2 lbs and the pickups are fab too. The thing just sings.

If you ask me, I think at the moment I think the Palir is better than the Strat (just, or I am not use to the Strat yet), I need to tighten? the truss rod (Make the neck have less relief, I think turning right on the truss rod?), the Strat plays great but I can’t get the action as low without buzz on the 12th fret at the moment on the Low E under 2mm (which I know is normal). I would prefer it lower by a hair and a tiny tightening would do it then it would be perfect.
