Name some great guitars that have slipped under the radar and consequently are now cheap.

I'll kick off with the Ibanez Blazer and Roadstar. Also the Yamaha FZ1000 (not the motorcycle lol), In fact any number of great Yamahas deserve to make this list.

    Gibson 'The Paul'.

Although I sold mine.  But it was great.  And comparatively cheap, esp. for a 40 year old.

    Pretty much anything by Godin.

The brand is suffers from lack of recognition / aspiration yet its products are refreshingly different and very well made.
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

Another +1 for Godin - have always liked the brand family since I bought my mid 90s Seagul S6, SD24 and Godin Artisan TC Tele.

More recently I've just taken in a Knaggs Acoustic made in partnership with Godin which is brilliant too.

    Seriously?

    Harley Benton with new pickups.

Will be almost as good as a R9.

Used Martin D-18s occasionally come up cheap, but their value has been increasing recently.

Wow, thought I'd be the only Godin poster.
That'll teach me to come late to the party
In that case, Schecter, not all pointy metal machines & very well made.

    My favourite niche of guitar.

Taylor SB1 Classic.  £1500 new, less than a third of that now.  The weird acoustic-company-makes-an-electric dichotomy scuppered them I think but they're lovely.

As per the OP, lots of Yamaha stuff is underpriced because of the ubiquity of the brand.  The RGX 320 and 520 are superb.  The RGX A2 is completely unique but too space-age for many I imagine.

Another brand that suffers from an image problem is Samick - they've made so much over the years for other people, but their own brand stuff is pretty good value.

As above, Godins are excellent, brands like Hondo and Aria made some good guitars but they also made some bad ones so you need to know what you're looking at.

A fun area of guitar buying!

I don't know enough about all the other models of Roadstar, but I wouldn't recommend the Roadstar II that I had.  It had a horrible locking trem on it.
