"Who sent you here? Can't talk, little man? Bet can't play none, either....!"

Awesome film.... rather pricey guitar though!

I always thought that it was a bit s**t that Ralph had top revert back to his classical chops for the win

It's really just a pretty basic, generic Jackson/Charvel isn't it?

There was ( you probably know this but if anyone doesn’t) an original ending when he played blues ( a slide duel between Ry Cooder and Arlen Roth); well the music was recorded although I don’t think it was filmed. I believe the music is out there somewhere on the internet.

Interesting to know that there was also a head cutting scene filmed with Vai beating one of my heroes Shuggie Otis which was chopped out of the film. I shall go google that now , see if that’s survived anywhere.

Edit : the audio of the duel with Otis is on a Vai compilation.

If you mean him having to "gargle mayonnaise" then I think that's Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny . . .

I saw this film when it came out  and got obsessed with that classical bit at the end, spend hours and hours learning it and still play it now and then these days. Always loved Vai's playing in the head cutting scene too

well into this, I think it's a pretty good price, USA guitar, so nice tweaks in it like graphite enforcement, legit floyd, non-crappy stock pickups.

it's also a bit of history for a person of a certain age. while I've moved on a long time from this type of guitar, this guitar pulled a heart string, I'm hovering dangerously over buy. Great marketing.

I think the whole deep message of the film was good guys play teles and classical music, bad guys play Jackson's and rock.

And in the immortal words of Edmund blackaddrer 'bad guys have all the fun'

    QED.

Or, as someone watching now who never saw it in the 80's; "bad guys play pointy guitars and look silly in hindsight" :P
