I know I don't tend to do very well with my PSA threads, but these are some enormous discounts... not sure why, or if anyone would be interested, but here's the link:

Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

The LL is their equivalent but it’s slightly larger.

It’s a bit deeper and I guess the lower bout is a touch wider but it’s narrower at the waist - I think that it’s a bit more lithe-feeling because of that. I find mine much easier to wield than the Taylor 110 I used to have.

The only thing that irks me about these models is that the '26 doesn't get a nitro finish. Not such a big deal at sale prices but at rrp it seems nuts.

TBF, the Japan custom shop is about as big as the foyer at Taylor or Martin. It would equate better to the likes of Collings in terms of size ( probably smaller ). A similar Collings/Santa Cruz/Bourgeois would be eye wateringly pricey, even based on the MRP.. Also think what an SG3000 would cost at todays prices, similar production in its day (probably less ).

  • Whoever it was that bought the cutaway L36, thank you for saving me from myself!

No surprise to see that these are all selling very quickly!

do these really normally retail at those 4k - 5k prices? or are purchases more likely made on these when there is a less generous discount?

Peach has had them before at those prices and sold them... if they were discounted any, it wasn't an advertised thing...

With the 56 and 36 models, it wasn't the pricing, those who know the higher end Yamahas never had an issue there, it was the availability. In truth these guitars are more interesting to the US /UK small output / single luthier crowd who have or had high value / mass production US guitars. There cones a point where Yamaha, Froggy Bottom, Huss and Dalton through to Santa Cruz or Collings on the headstock means less than the guitar on it's merits. I say that as someone who owns and plays guitars from world renowned individual builders to the usual names, these guitars are worth the MRP in any meaningful way.
