Ha!    just starting the second carve after doing the 1.8 degree angle on the body yesterday with a trusty old No.6 plane - so I'll see which one wants a hand rubbed burst and which wants the Blacktop.  I'm definitely going to go Blacktop on one of these - probably the next one which will have a TOM bridge, just seems appropriate somehow.
