Didn’t see this when it was first broadcast so after all the hype I figured I’d give it a go. I’m guessing it picks up? The opening 90 minute episode was pretty dire.

That's part of the initial mini series.

It's all background, and it's needed.

First proper episode is called "33" and it's brilliant. But it won't make sense without the previous stuff.

As brilliant as teh rework is - avoid the spin offs like the plague (or Cv-19 to be topical).  Some of the worst, most contrived, self loving TV I've ever seen...

I managed two and a half episodes, in the false belief that if BSG was so good, this couldn't be that bad.

It makes that youtube video of a cheese sandwich look well directed.
