I think of flat earthers as a cult/religion.  There is no debate with them because they set out with an agenda, as opposed to do experiments to find an answer and accept that answer.  They only ever to set up limited "experiment" that gives them the answer they are already looking for and reject every other data.

That's not what science is about, so they are just a cult really.  It's just the internet has given them a platform, and there are enough gullible people out there.

the thing I don't understand about the flat earth lot is why? Why do they care? I kinda get why people are anti vax (not that I condone it), it's done out of fear, they are scared of something they don't understand. Likewise the chem trailers, anti climate change brigade and so on. But what do they fear from a spherical earth?
