Tools made in UK you would like to see

What's Hot
So I have had a short discussion with one on my bosses about making ' luthier' tools on machine .
The answer was , ' show me what it is and we'll look into ' .

Can you guys make a list of tools ( possible to make on CNC machine , no files etc )  ,  that you would like to see made and put price next to it you likely to pay for it ?

And to make this  clear  ,  we are talking here about solid quality and precision tools .

Thanks

Off the top of my head

    Dual notched straight edge -

    24.75"/25.50"

    £30ish

    Dual notched straight edge -

    30.00"/34.00"

    £40ish

I'll give it some more thought.

Not tools as such... but templates for various routing would likely prove popular and quite lucrative.

Precision steel fret templates for the most common scale lengths ( Gibson, Fender , PRS etc )

I guess of high quality and precision notched then circa £25 each

For me it would be ones which are handy for mods or alterations:
Pick up cavities (humbucker, single coil, P90 etc)
Control cavities (LP four pot style, Strat trem, Floyd Rose trem etc)
Body templates would be great but you might get the long arm of the copyright law coming your way!

Templates for routing your own humbucker, single coil, p90 etc cavities as well as the template for routing the pickguard cavity too.

Lots of DIY modders out there would buy them if there was a UK source

We went to town having our own templates for our own use in the workshop made over the years. We had been using using a signmaker who has a laser cutter.
Here is own new revised Floyd Rose Installing system - took ages to get all the layers organised.

I'd like to see a better dremel router base than the Stewmac one, which I think is extremely clunky to use.

All noted and I'll pass it on soon to bosses . However , some tools won't make much profit if any and I don't think they'll be willing to make them .
For example templates , these are laser cut and that isn't as easy to machine . At least not for money they are sell for currently .

I'm currently working with someone who has put this fret slotting jig together

It's just about at final prototype stage.

The template include 6 separate scale lengths (with another template for bass scale lengths).

It's a more secure design than the StewMac version (which I've got), and is also more accurate.
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

Fretboard Radiusing beams would be good.

    As above, notched straight edges.

I don't know if it would be practically or financially viable but you could also look at some options in guitar hardware. Scratchplates perhaps? Control plates? Tele bridge plates in alternative shapes or specialist specifications? There may be decent mark-ups on things like these -

Be nice to have some more UK options. Although I am aware that Grainger is in this territory and Axion does a Micawber bridge.

Oh, and I'd add a preicision straight edge to my previous post. Crimson's is £30 so undercutting that a bit would be good.

    That looks good.

Presumably you could make a different template for bass scale lengths.
