Les Trem comedy problem...

I have a les trem on my epi 339. i transport it in a gig bag. I dont think a hard case lid pushing down on it is a problem as pushing down on it  loosens the strings ie the tones are lowered and tension is lower?

Maybe. For now it's just partially shut with two of the catches done up. The good news is I think I've now got it in tune and it's staying there

I wouldn't worry about it. I don't have a Les Trem but use Jazzmasters and the arm always gets pushed down whether in a case or gigbag. Never caused any problems other than the possibility of being slightly out of tune.
