Since Kemper is such a cheat answer I'll say that if I could only have one amp it would have to be a Friedman BE.

Would hate to have only that because the clean channel isn't as good as other amps so thank God for the modelling era. In fact, there's no chance I'd allow myself to spend on a Friedman anyway never mind as well as a Fender for cleans.

Things must have been shitty for non-rich guitarists before the modelling era.

Of course. If you’ve found a guitar, amp and pedals that work best for you, why would you list anything else?

Much more sensible than everyone just saying ‘59 Les Paul, ‘68 Marshall, Vox wah, Fuzz Face, Uni-Vibe...

Inevitably! Taken decades and gazillions of pounds to arrive at my favourites! In fantasy land the only changes would be that the 6120 would be a Gretsch Custom Shop one off, the amp might just be the Boogie Maverick Dual Rectifier 4x10 blonde combo I once owned and the pedals would be gold plated. I’d be just as happy with my original choices though, and I KNOW that they work together!

That's always a problem with forums.

In this case, it's purely for the sake of discussion but often someone will be in the market for something so post "what is the best x?" and loads of replies will just say the one they happen to have as long as they're happy with it.

If the asker is lucky, there might be one or two replies from people who have thoroughly tested the various options and chosen their favourite but then those two useful posts will be buried among the rest.

Pretty much sums up my views on democracy actually but that's a different story lol...

My comment was with my tongue firmly in cheek.
If people are happy with their rigs, that’s great.
    I’m really happy with mine.
Is it the perfect/ultimate rig? Probably not.
Do I feel inclined to change it? Not really.
Do I lust after all manner of things? Yes!

    You could answer thusly:

    59 Burst
    Dumble
    3x Klon Centaurs.

Would it be more suitable for me? Probably not.
Could I do a huge amount of life changing stuff with the funds from selling all that? Absolutely!

Well, if what you’ve got works for you, and you want to be confident that your picks are going to work (because $IDOL has just got on the phone to say they’re sending a private jet to fly you out to play along for a headline slot at a major festival but there’s only enough room on the plane/stage for one guitar, one amp, and three pedals) then why wouldn’t you go with what you know?

In that spirit: Fender Graham Coxon Tele, Magnetic Effects White Atom fuzz, Danelectro Danowah[1], TC Alter Ego X4 delay, and Mesa 5:25 Express.

    [1] Stop laughing, it’s brilliant!
Don't ask me, I just play the damned thing...

  • OK, in the spirit of an ideal world in which I can have whatever I want -

NOVO MIRIS J but with TV JONES SUPERTRONS

    NOVO MIRUS J Pocketmagscom

    VINTAGE BLACKFACE DELUXE

Fender Deluxe Reverb 1965 Blackface Price Guide Reverb

RE-20 (or a reliable real one if that counts as a pedal - extra points for this as it matches the guitar!)

    RE-20 Space Echo - BOSS

MY JEN CRYBABY (as I've never found a better wah - but that's probably because it was the one I learnt to wah on - pic not actually my one)

Jen Cry Baby Wah Found Sound

    MESA BOOGIE V TWIN

    MESABoogie

And I'd still have an Ebow in my pocket.

-fender telecaster (or alternatively a strat)
    - fender small 6V6 combo (either a champ or a princeton reverb)
    - a tuner, an overdrive (either a benson preamp or a RAT) and a reverb pedal (a topanga probably)
