Can anyone explain the £200 price difference? I know a centre-block doesn't cost that.
Remember that when a guitar company upgrades/adds a spec from one model to the next, the extra price they charge is many times the cost of the upgrade itself.

I'm not loving the Laurel that they're using for the fingerboards. Not a fan at all.

There's a few examples on his facebook showing how it darkens fretboards ,even after one application , 3 applications would get it nice and dark , no idea how it dries or if it comes off with sweaty hands so dont shoot the messenger !.

These look great but the  laurel fingerboards just look wrong and extremly dry.....
Have you seen Gibsons rosewood fretboards recently. I'd say they are perfectly in keeping with the look of those!

Some of it looks bad, some seems to look ok. Have you played any with it?

Yes, I bought one of the new Coronets. Had it for a week or so I think. The Laurel feels rough and gritty, and when bending you not only feel it, but hear it too. I've given it a pamper with F-One oil, but no difference, and F-ONE is something I swear by, it works wonders with Rosewood. I've got some of that Montys wax enroute, my plan is to go over it with some fine steel wool, and give it some coats of the Montys.
Hey @mikes let us know how you get on with the Montys wax :+1:

CME has the Casino in an exclusive sunrise orange colour. Think it looks great, shame it's not available in the UK.

That's quite nice. I've seen pictures of '60s red Casinos that faded to that "tomato soup" colour.

I think it's a pity that the new Casino does not come in the absolutely splendid Royal Tan finish that's available on the Riviera. That's a classic Casino colour and one of my favourite guitar finishes.

Probable posted elsewhere but just noticed this now...I thought Wow Lee is sounding really good on that rhythm guitar at the start. Then realised it was Rabea!

  • That olive green Casino looks so nice. Take of the pickguard, it  would look similar to the Chris Cornell 335, which I could never afford. Another one to add to the list of potentials for the next guitar.

They usually are a bit dry - a generous, repeated application of oil darkens them nicely and they can be every bit as smooth as good rosewood. I actually like it, and vaguely remember a time when it was considered a premium option from some builders, alongside purpleheart or cocobolo.

They're saving that for the incoming USA-made model...
