That's a good looking guitar. The raw wood makes me think a white top would be sexy.

Some work there - techniques, skills, knowledge - that are beyond impressive Wez.

    Between you & Andy, wow!

Hope the guitar gets the recognition and appreciation that your work deserves.  And I don't mean a few WOWs on here.
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

Well worse case is I keep it for myself, which won't be a bad outcome  ;)

I will be interested to see how it compares to the first hollowbody though, so I'm not mad that one didn't sell

Quick pic of the back.  Just been working on the neck transitions.   I think the heel still needs a bit more work, but it's getting there

It's looking great Wez.  What don't you like about the heel transition?  It looks fine in the picture

Nothing wrong with it,  just feel it could be a little more refined

brushed on a couple of coats of sealing prior to gluing the neck in.

so the neck is in and its time for a test fit.

As mentioned a couple of months ago, I lost symmetry, enough to cause some issues with mounting the tailpiece. I need to shim the mounting plate to get it all lining up nicely.  I cut a shim for the duesenberg tailpiece , but not quite enough.  i'm using a couple of plectrums to help it along in this test fit.

I will either make a better fitting shim for this tailpiece, or remake the wooden one  with the taper in built... but its going to work

sounds great so far.   Blacktop will suit it i think

I still need to add some shelves for the cavity cover to sit on.  They are made, just need gluing in.   Back looks a bit messy here as there are a few bits of the carve to rework before I carry on with finishing.   I will get that cavity cover mounted so it can be carved to match at the same time

I really like the Duesenberg Z-tuners i picked up for this

Not updated this in a while, but the weather is improving so I've put a coat of paint on top

I am partial to a ___top, but that is particularly gorgeous. That blade neck p90 looks cool against the black too.

Yeah, I'm happy with the way it's coming together.

For the back and sides part of me is tempted to do a light tobacco burst.  At the moment the matching binding is kinda lost, so bursting the back and sides may help it pop a little

I will go with a bit of amber first and see what I think from there

Finally have some better weather for spraying.

I decided to do a light burst on the back and sides of this, leaving the binding natural
