My thoughts too to be honest. 
The fx section is generally good and non argumentative. 

This place on the other hand loves a witch hunt with a pitch fork. The guitar section on here is quite frequently filled with bollocks and handbags at dawn.

I find the digital & modelling forum on TGP is a bit more level-headed and open minded than the others on there. 

This place sometimes reminds me a bit of another UK forum Singletrack World, just swap the bikes for guitars. I stopped posting there because it just felt like a hub for smug, pedantic unhappy middle aged men. Not quite so bad here but sometimes it can get like that!

I hang around on TDPRI from time to time ( part of the same group now as TGP) and it's all helpful and informative but if you do more than dip in it soon becomes apparent that there's a hard core of moany old men, like it is here, so I imagine TGP is much the same. 
TGP used to get some well known figures, their reviews got quoted in ads and there was a sense of it being top dog in the world of guitar forums. But I think those days are largely gone.
