Has your taste in women changed since you were a teen?

What's Hot

A strange question I guess ...

I was fishing around on catchup TV late last night looking for something to watch, and on ITV I noticed Man about the house from the 70s. Some nostalgic memories kicked in and I stuck the first episode on. In my mid teens when this aired I was absolutely smitten by Paula Wilcox, which I admit was partly the attraction in re-watching - however, watching again all these years later I found myself far more attracted to Sally Thomsett now. This surprised me to be honest as I had such a thing for Paula.

OK, so sad old man watching young women aside, I actually rather enjoyed it, I shall be watching a few more. Richard O'Sullivan was such a likeable actor back then, and Brian Murphy & Yootha Joyce were great supporting characters.

Sally left, Paula right

Sally Thomsett was a contestant on something Mrs Grampa was watching the other day, honestly didn't recognize her, the years and too much cosmetic surgery have not been kind.

As to the original question, yes. In my teens anything over 30 was ancient, now in my 60th year anything under 30 is way too young to be interesting.

I've always liked the look of petite brunettes ideally with a bit of a mane of hair.  I grew up in the 80s so Cindy Crawford was the benchmark.  Not much has changed and like Grampa above I'm really glad that as I've got older I haven't resorted to ogling young women..  Amazingly the older I get, the older my Mrs gets and thats perfect for me  (shes 5ft 2, brunette, long hair and in my eyes at least gorgeous  :-) )

I can say, quite honestly and without fear of contradiction, that yes, it has.

    Was it Celebrity Pointless?
I saw her on that recently and I didn't recognise her either, she looked terrible - and for some reason she couldn't stand at the podium, she had to play seated.

I can remember watching 'Keep it in the Family' back in the early 80s, about a cartoonist with two very attractive young daughters. But for some strange reason I used to fancy the woman who played his wife, She was older than my mum.

I've spent much more time on a granny chat line at 6p a minute lately than I care to admit.

Me too. I definitely prefer the more curvier lady these days.

I’m on a college reunion Facebook site and one of the women on there put up a photo of the two of us when we were dating. We must’ve been 18 or19 at the time We both look like a bacon sandwich wouldn’t have done us any harm... I’m six foot and weighed about 9 stone back then. I also had an enormous amount of mad frizzy hair, think Sideshow Bob. I looked like a fucking floor mop.
