So. I should be getting my amp back today.

Marshall called and said that they had the amp on soak for a while.

    So what was the problem?

    Output valves, apparently.

They re-valved it, ran it up for a good while and all seems to be well. It’ll be interesting to see what happens when it’s back in my company. I shall give it some pain tomorrow to see what it’s like.

I’m dubious that this is what the cause was, but we’ll see. I’ll leave it on for a few hours and see if I have any of the same problems. Fingers crossed I don’t.

In any case, it’ll be cool to have it back. Thinking I may keep hold of it as I want to try it with an EQ in the loop and a potentially a Boss SD-1w in front for some proper hair rock.

Interesting thread, my Blackstar Studio 10 EL34 is doing this too.

I'd put it down as a valve fault and was anticipating replacement of both, but this has prompted my to go back to PMT as I only bought it in October to ask for a replacement.

I've told them I think it's a bad solder joint.
