I made the pickguard and wired it up. I'm not normally a fan of white speed knobs but I've tried black and gold and these just looked best. Suggestions welcome!

What cplour are the pickups?  If black I would go with black reflector knobs.   If metal either gold reflectors or thewhite you have already

For some reason, I seem to think reflectors will suit it

The pickups have black covers. I might have some white ones somewhere but think they'd be too much.  I can try some reflector knobs.

I could try a black pickguard too maybe?

Black pickups, white guard. If you've got a big enough piece of sheet I would maybe do a Gibson '67 'raygun' guard shape...

Yes this pickguard shape isn't the most elegant but it's true to the original design.

I wouldn't want it bigger on this one because the wood is so nice but I'll try drawing some different shapes.

Ah, in that case leave it!

Think the logo font would suit being more angular, maybe echo the body shape..the triangle would make a neat capital D shape....

I like the pickguard and knobs as they are, and I normally hate white plastics ;)

Thanks Paul. My original has a 25" scale. This one is 24.75".

I'm ready to assemble now but I don't have a neck plate! I could cannibalise my Telecaster I suppose but I'd rather wait.

Sorry too late! I did consider all Greek Δελτα but thought it too pretentious. None of the angular fonts felt right.

They aren't as far as I'm aware @paulnb57. I took measurements from my "original" to make some templates.

    Here you go @davros:

Once I have the neck plate and screws I can assemble and setup.

Well, it's definitely a novel design, but very nicely done and a lovely finish. Do you still have Mk 1 for a comparison when it's finished?

I do. This one will be a properly playable guitar showing that the original concept was good.

I haven't buffed or polished the lacquer; after a few coats of clear, I flat sanded back to 800 grit and sprayed one final coat of clear.

I'm quite pleased with my wiring, I don't think it could be more compact.
