To clarify this won’t be at Birmingham!

All in good time! What I can tell you is that its more built than a digital drawing right now..

Whilst it's still a drawing, i think you could improve upper fret access a bit.  I would see how it looks with one fret further out the body, and the other parts moved appropriately

Hey Wez, I did go back and forward on this when I was laying it all out, but when it came down to it I wanted more stability in the neck joint over upper fret access. I'm not sure that this would be the guitar a shredder would choose over something with an ergonomic heel, full fret access and a super fast neck. Visually I much prefer having the neck start before the edge of the body, and non offset horns was something I wanted to include.

I'd try it a couple of ways on any prototypes you make, worse case is one body blank wasted to see what you prefer the feel of in the hand.

You will likely find you don't lose any stability by moving it half an inch further out, possibly extending the heel the same if that's a concern.

I totally agree about having some of the neck in the body, it does work well visually.

I do appreciate how nicely things line up on the design so far,  things like the plate ending at the mid point of the bridge pickup need to be kept.

    And here it is!

You'll notice my brother and I have also managed to build the extension too, remember the first M1 building site pics? Same spot!

That's very nice - personally, I prefer it to your offset

    Likewise, I reckon.

One thing, though - the output jack looks a long way from the edge of the guitar.  I think I'd  prefer the edge-mounted Electrosocket, like on the Model 1.  Also possibly move the toggle to where the socket is.

It's a really nice-looking design, but it sets out its stall as a guitar definitely not aimed at anyone who ever ventures up to the dusty end of the fretboard.  From that perspective I prefer the Model 1.

Until I looked at pictures side by side, it didn't strike me just how different it is from the Model 1.  There's a strong sense of brand identity, which is great.

Thanks guys, its really important to me that they have the same kind of design language. One thing to reference is that the M2 is 24.75" with 22 frets and standard, so access isn't wholely different to my M1 - M1 direct access finishes at 20, an M2 it's 19. But I'm happy to have them occupy different spaces, the idea is to broaden my appeal beyond my first design :-)

    Here's a couple shot
