G7. I think the weight actually adds something to the tone........not necessarily a fact, just the way it feels to me.

I have a couple of the Dunlop trigger capos for quick changes, but actually prefer my schub one as it is more compact and doesn't get in the way.

I like my Shubb. Can be a tad fiddly, sometimes, but I like it.
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

I use a capo quite a lot especially on acoustic. I've tried a few and the Shubb is definitely my favourite. You can fine tune the pressure on the strings so they don't all play sharp.

Other thing I like about the Shubb is it's tiny, light and indestructible.

I've got a cheap Dunlop (the pressed mental with cloth that wraps round the neck model) and a G7.

The Dunlop needs careful adjustment to prevent tuning issues, so isn't suitable for moving around in a live situation.

But - the G7 is very heavy. On a light acoustic, it definitely makes them feel more neck-heavy - particularly when used on the first few frets.

I tend to use the Dunlop more.

Nor did I until I tried a Kyser. I couldn't believe how much simpler, quicker and more accurate it was.

Yes - in a quiet, staying out of SC and only talking about music and guitars kind of way.

  • Kyser. Wouldn't have anything else. Got one 11 years ago in the USA. Paid $20.00 US for it. Still got it. It's still in one piece. Still more than does the job after 11 years of solid use on acoustic and electrics.

Another +1 for the Kyser, ive probably had it 15years now. I've always found the Shubb to be far more hassle than a capo deserves to be.

I found the reverse.  The tuning was horrible with a Shubb.  It's probably ok if you carefully adjust the thumbwheel but you don't want to be faffing around doing that mid set.  The tuning is a lot better with the G7th.

I got rid of my Shubbs on Feebay after getting a G7th.
