This is one of my favourites, a 2014 factory-aged R6. My 50s Les Paul Juniors are my other favourites.

Definitely my Les Paul, it just has a bit of magic about it really, though I think P90s bring out the character differences in guitars more than humbuckers do, so it's worth having more than one. :)

An all-mahogany SG is obviously a classic tone, and a full depth archtop with P90s is a wild ride at stage volume. Hell, bung 'em in everything!

Do you have any video of that Loar?

Only when it was a purely acoustic archtop I'm afraid!

    One of these...

I'm pleased with how this turned out. The Oil City Jazzwatch is absolutely killer.

    Nice amp too.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

It is, I'm very pleased with that too! Sounds incredible with a Dynasonic pickup through it.

I’ve always disliked P90 guitars , but I played a PRS SE 245 a few weeks ago and was surprised how good it sounded .

reading one of my fave old magazines though I have fallen in love with the Gold Tops owned by Joe and Brad on the cover

I've only played one guitar with P90s, so that is my answer by default (at least I'm not the only one) - it's my father-in-law's Hohner L90 (of which I am deeply, deeply covetous) which is a Goldtop copy.

  • Here's mine. It's got a neck like a baseball bat but it's lovely.

This is my favourite guitar. I've owned four or five Gibson Specials but none of them was what I wanted. This one has woodwork by GSP and was painted/assembled by me.
