This guy is on the audio bus forum , lots of beautiful ambient stuff like this on his utube channel.
Seefeel - Quique
Autechre - Amber
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85-92 & Volume II
Boards of Canada - Music has the right to children
Orbital - Snivilisation
For something more recent you could try the 2 albums by Bicep.
Biosphere
Woob
Terry Riley - esp A Rainbow in Curved Air
Banco de Gaia - esp a 44 minute version of Kinkajou (but some B de G veers into ambient dance)
Broekhuis, Keller & Schonwalder
Fanger & Schonwalder
Rothe & Schonwalder
Ascendant (not to be confused with a guitar heavy four-piece band from Scandinavia)
Germind
Subdream
Motionfield
I listen to them on Spotify. There are quite a few versions of the same song which is interesting. Fripp's ambient soundscapes are a one-off event - he never plays the same thing twice. Not sure I'd buy the CD set but there are some excellent tracks and some dross.

Some good vids on YouTube
Ciclismo - Blue and Grey. An incomplete history of British Rail.
Also Ambient 4: On Land by Eno
A hidden gem is Jack Jutson - Mother. You should check that out for something a little different.
Ozrics - Kick Muck
Alan Parson Project - Mammagamma (the full 6 min version)
Labradford - Mi Media Naranja, E Luxo So
Manual - The North Shore
Loscil - Monument Builders
Gas - Pop
Bohren & der Club of Gore - Dolores
All are more instrumental than ambient, but all are great bands.
